Here are some matches to watch for the week of September 25:
Monday 9/25--
Big 8 League Norco @ King 4:30pm--The Cougars make a quick trip over to King for their first big test on their path thru the Big 8. King faces a must win to keep in contact with Corona Santiago.
Citrus Belt League Yucaipa @ Citrus Valley 4:30pm-- This match pits two of the contenders for a league title in a matchup for early control of first place. Yucaipa got a late assist from Redlands to win a sole league title a year ago.
Citrus Valley faces another big test along the path to taking it away from the Thunderbirds.
South Valley League Santa Rosa Academy @ Calvary Murrieta 5pm: The Rangers after knocking off Rancho Christian look to continue their undefeated start to league play. Calvary Murrieta looks for a ranked opponent win as the Warriors were on their division watch list but did not appear in the first division poll. It's the battle of rookie head coaches in South Valley League play.
Tuesday 9/26
Ambassador League Loma Linda Academy @ Ontario Christian 6pm-- After the Roadrunners defeated Notre Dame and Linfield Christian in a back to back last week they face another first place match. Coach Paige Liebhart's Lady Knights get another shot in a matchup for first place after being swept by Notre Dame the last time they were in this position.
Ambassador League Woodcrest Christian @ Notre Dame 6pm-- After being swept 11 days ago by the Titans the Royals make a short trek across Riverside in need of this quality win to keep themselves ahead of Aquinas in the race for postseason. The Titans look to keep pace with Ontario Christian and Loma Linda at the top of league play.
Southwestern League Temecula Valley @ Great Oak 4:30pm-- After an intense 5 set victory over Chaparral the road to a league title does not get any easier for the Wolfpack with a matchup against the defending champion Bears. In this first round 4 of their 5 matches are at home. One thing to keep an eye on in this one is hitting efficiency for the Bears. In a sweep of Murrieta Mesa they registered 14 hitting errors but still managed a .305% hitting percentage.
River Valley League Patriot @ Jurupa Valley 4:30pm-- A very telling week in River Valley League play begins with two opening night winners squaring off.
Victory League Mesa Grande Academy @ Bloomington Christian 5pm-- The Cardinals start a back to back to back with the Ravens who made an appearance in last week's coaches poll.
Wednesday 9/27
Big 8 League Norco @ Santiago/Corona 5:30pm-- The Cougars and Sharks square off for the first time in 2017. Coach Jake Celestin's side was the only squad other than King to take a set from Santiago. The Sharks go for their 58th consecutive league win.
Sunbelt League Elsinore @ Heritage 4:30pm-- Elsinore opens their Sunbelt League slate at Home with Heritage and looks to create momentum going into a showdown with Paloma Valley on Friday.
Thursday 9/28-
South Valley League NuView Bridge @ Santa Rosa Academy 5pm- The Knights need a 2-0 week to play themselves back into playoff position. Meanwhile the Rangers look to stay atop the standings starting October's play.
Friday 9/29
Sunbelt League Elsinore @ Paloma Valley 4:30pm-- An early season battle for control of the Sunbelt League.
