Here is my look ahead at some of the key volleyball matches across our Inland Sports area this week.
Big 8 League--Corona/Roosevelt @ Corona/Santiago 5:30pm
The Mustangs make a trip to Santiago looking to end the Sharks 59 match Big 8 League winning streak. In last week's Division 2 poll Santiago was ranked number one by the voting coaches.
Big 8 League--Centennial/Corona @ Norco 5:30pm
Winner of this match evens their league record at .500% and assuming Roosevelt loses to Santiago creates a tie for 3rd in league.
Citrus Belt League--Redlands East Valley @ Citrus Valley 4:30pm
Winner maintains contact with league leading Yucaipa. Loser is still in playoff position but the path to a title requires some help.
Tuesday 10/3
Southwestern League--Temecula Valley @ Vista Murrieta 4:30pm
After getting pushed to the brink on Thursday by Murrieta Valley the Bears visit Vista Murrieta looking to continue an undefeated start to their 2017 campaign. The Broncos are looking for another statement win to go along with their Queens Court Elite Division title.
South Valley League--Rancho Christian @ Calvary Murrieta 5pm
The Eagles,after a 10 day layoff from match action, return to action with a road match at Calvary Murrieta. It's going to be a very telling week for South Valley League title contending teams.
Sunbelt League--Heritage @ Paloma Valley 4:30pm
Paloma Valley after dropping a 5 set thriller to Elsinore welcomes Heritage to start the week. Winner leaps into second place with one match to go in the first round.
River Valley League--Patriot @ La Sierra 6pm
The Warriors put an undefeated league record on the line while La Sierra looks to jumble up the top half of the standings.
Wednesday 10/4
Citrus Belt League--Yucaipa @ Redlands East Valley 4:30pm
Yucaipa makes the trip into Redlands and visits the Wildcats. The first time these two sides met this match was decided by a combined 7 points. Redlands East Valley needs a 2-0 week to stay in the race for a CBL title.
Sunkist League--Grand Terrace @ Summit 4:30pm
Winner stays a game back of league leading Fontana with a match to go in the first rd.
Thursday 10/5
Southwestern League--Chaparral @ Temecula Valley 4:30pm
The Pumas were able to push Temecula Valley to 5 in one of their encounters last year and took at least a set in both matchups.
South Valley League--Rancho Christian @ Santa Rosa Academy 5pm
The two ranked opponents from South Valley League competition together for one final time in 2017. At Rancho Christian the Rangers came away victorious in 5 sets. An 2-0 week by the Eagles would swing momentum in the race for a league title.
Friday 10/6
Ambassador League--Linda Academy @ Woodcrest Christian 3:15pm
The Roadrunners look to sweep the season series and maintain a two game separation in league play. Teri James Royals already avenged a 1st round sweep of Notre Dame last week by winning in 4 sets at the Golden Dome.
Monday 10/2
